THOMAS J. CREAVY

Director of Golf Instruction

Hailing from Westchester, New York, Tom has a long line of golf ancestry dating back to his great uncle, also Tom Creavy, who was victorious at the 1931 PGA Championship defeating greats like Gene Sarazen in the match-play format. The final match against Denny Shute was refereed by Bobby Jones.

Tom was introduced to the game at an early age by his father and his love for golf blossomed shortly thereafter. Tom played in both the US Junior Amateur, the US Amateur, and several other events on the national level. After graduating from Stetson University in May of 1992, with a degree in Finance and Accounting, Tom continued his pursuit of a career in the golf industry. Tom was the Player of the Year in the Trans-America Athletic Conference in 1992 and in 1993 defeated Tiger Woods 3 & 2 en route to a victory in the Monroe Invitational Championship in Rochester, NY.

Since turning professional in 1994, Tom has played on various tours in the United States and has been affiliated with the Lake Nona Golf Club in Orlando, FL and the Quaker Ridge Golf Club in Scarsdale, NY. During his summer months, Tom worked for the Golf Digest instructional schools at the Ocean Edge Resort on Cape Cod. Having been a student of the game for many years, Tom decided to completely turn his attention to golf instruction in 1996. Through extensive training Tom became a certified instructor at the David Leadbetter Academy. Tom worked as Leadbetter’s first assistant for over four years. His experience included working with tour players such as Nick Faldo, Nick Price, and Ernie Els. Tom also worked with Leadbetter as an instructor in corporate outings both in the United States, as well as internationally.

In September of 2000, Tom Creavy began conducting his own golf schools, and corporate outings. Upon leaving the Leadbetter Academy, Tom began working as Se Ri Pak’s full time coach. Since working together, Se Ri has won 16 LPGA events, including three LPGA major championships. Several other PGA and LPGA Tour winners, as well as some of the nation’s top collegiate and amateur players, seek Tom’s advice. One and two-day corporate events have been part of Tom’s full schedule over the past six years. As the Director of Instruction at Metrowest Golf Club, Tom’s programs include lessons on the full swing, short game, and consultation on golf course management. Tom has been a contributing editor for Golf Digest and Golf Magazine, and has been featured several times in Golf World and Sports Illustrated. Most recently Tom appeared in Golf For Women magazine with Se Ri in the January 2007 issue.

Tom enjoys instructing players of all abilities to improve their games and to become more consistent players. Tom has been a resident of Orlando since graduating from Stetson University. He is very involved with the Orlando community and recently got engaged to Leigh Anne Hardin, a former Duke University All-American.
